Years ago, when my business was growing very rapidly, I met two Fortune 500 CEO's at a Food Trade Show in New Orleans. We talked business for about a half a day and they where very moved and inspired about my accomplishments as they share theirs. When the show ended

that day, it was dark out and I walked back to my hotel. On the hallway just outside of my hotel room, I was sitting on the floor making and receiving calls when the same two men approach me as they were going toward their rooms. One of them speaks in a quiet voice to me and says "What are you doing?" I responded "Answering calls" he says "Why are you out here?" I said "Because my team member is sleeping in my room." They both looked at each other and then looked back at me with the biggest look of surprise and one of them continued, "Here you are... The CEO of your big company, sitting out here on the floor, and you are concerned about waking up your employee??..." At first I didn't understand their surprise, but then I got it. Still holding the phone to my head, I nodded and I said back to them "No matter who you are, be kind and respectful to others, in return, they will be kind to you and you will feel and see great things as you never expected." They both walked away continuing to their rooms with the biggest grin in their faces and shaking their heads still in disbelief. -Maggie Cook
