You can't do it!

How many times have you been told that you couldn't do something and instead of stopping there you did it anyway? This is called the reverse psychology effect that we unknowingly practice as humans. While some automatically do the opposite of what they are told, others get stuck in the notion that they can't actually do the opposite although they want to, so badly. I have always been one to do exactly the opposite of what I was told I couldn't do. Even if the 'thing' you are told 'not to do' is good or bad, the same rule still applies wether you want to admit it or not. While this interesting fact may bring pain into our lives at times, it can also be the greatest blessing.
When my father told me at a young age that I would not amount to anything, that I would die in prison and with AIDS, it certainly brewed a fire in me that stayed within for a very long time. When I finally left the Mexican orphanage at age 17 and came to the US, I consistently felt the need to PROOVE HIM WRONG some day. The curse was my FEAR of FAILURE which lead me to become homeless at one point, and the GREATEST BLESSING was the amazing success I manifested because of it. In this particular situation, I let the fear on an impossibility fuel my fire to overcome a limitation that someone placed on me. Of course, things can always end up badly, but we still have a CHOICE

to make, and that is turning something 'bad' in to something 'good' for our ultimate benefit.
My question to you is this...
What is the most memorable limitation that someone placed on you, and what did you do because of it?
